In-Home Treatment: Crossroads Children’s Mental Health Centre provides individualized treatment services for children with complex social, behavioural, and emotional challenges in their home. This is the most effective way to learn and apply new skills.
Treatment consists of weekly in-home visits. The schedule and frequency of these visits is based on the client’s needs and preferences.
Accessing our services begins with a Single Session. You can book a single session with us at info@crossroadschildren.ca or on Counselling Connect or call us at 613-723-1623 ext. 232.
Intensive Services: Intensive services are for children whose mental health and behavioural needs are of such intensity that less intensive services have been unable to address them. These services are provided by Child & Youth Counsellors and Child & Family Therapists, with the support of psychologists and other professionals.
Referrals for this program are made through Coordinated Access & Referral.
Infant & Early Childhood Mental Health: “Infant Mental Health” refers to how well a child develops socially and emotionally from birth to age three.
Crossroads is Ottawa’s leader in infant and early mental health. We know that prenatal, infant, and early childhood experiences shape the architecture of the brain and lay the foundation for positive mental health across the lifespan. We also know that outcomes improve when problems are identified and treated early.
We provide a range of services for infants and children from birth to 6 years old by providing assessment and treatment to address disruptions in social emotional development. This ensures children are better able to experience, manage and express emotions, develop healthy and satisfying relationships, actively explore their environment, and learn.
Our infant and early childhood mental health programs focus on the attachment between the child & their parents/caregivers and include single session counselling at our Child & Family Clinic or on counsellingconnect.org, in-home treatment, therapy, and Circle of Security parent skills training groups.

Wraparound: Building a circle of support.
Wraparound builds on the strengths and resources of the family. Our Wraparound facilitator helps the family develop a team of supports — which could include friends, family, members of a faith community — as well as professionals involved in a helping role. This team develops an action plan, coordinates activities, problem-solves, and shares resources to meet the family’s needs.
Children and families referred to the Wraparound program have complex needs across multiple domains, including but not limited to housing, education, health, mental health, and recreation.
Wraparound is delivered in partnership with the Youth Services Bureau of Ottawa and Coordinated Access & Referral.
