Crossroads Children’s Mental Health Centre provides school-based treatment that combines education and treatment, to help children whose emotional and behavioural difficulties are affecting their ability to learn and to function in the classroom.
School Based Mental Health Program
In-school mental health services for children in Ottawa.
It is not uncommon for children to experience mental health challenges primarily at school. Working closely with the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board and the Ottawa Catholic School Board, the School Connections team delivers mental health services for children in 14 schools across Ottawa. Children with mental health needs are identified by teachers and principals and, with parent consent, referred to a child and youth worker who helps them build skills to succeed within their regular school environment.
